Perched on a hill between Lucca and the Valdinievole, Montecarlo is a small fortified village surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The Fortress, the walls and the Teatro dei Rassicurati hold its history.
This is the home of Montecarlo DOC wine: wineries and farms open their doors for tastings among the vines, with views over the Piana all the way to the Apuan Alps.
